ICAS and EASA are ready to welcome you in Istanbul – 24 to 26 April

International Council for Advertising Self-Regulation (ICAS) and European Advertising Standards Alliance (EASA) are looking forward to the upcoming Joint Biannual Meetings, that will take place from 24 to 26 April, hosted by our Turkish SRO member RÖK. This three-day event will be a great opportunity to network, meet your colleagues from the ad self-regulation field and exchange ideas on the most topical issues in advertising.


Istanbul will also host another key event in the field of marketing and advertising: the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA) Global Marketer Week will take place from April 25 to April 28. On Wednesday, WFA has kindly extended the invitation to our members to of their sessions, the Policy Forum and the Better Marketing – but if have the opportunity, do not miss WFA flagship conference, the Global Marketer conference, on Thursday 27 April.

09.00 – 12.00 RÖK Workshop – Swisshotel the Bosphorus
The workshop will focus on influencer marketing, and how to help ensure it is responsible and not misleading, presenting the European, French and Turkish perspective.

Agenda will follow. Workshop held in Turkish with simultaneous translation to English.


12.00 – 13.30 Welcome Lunch – Swisshotel the Bosphorus


13.30 – 16.30 ICAS Open Meeting – Swisshotel the Bosphorus

ICAS Open Meeting will explore the topics of diversity and inclusion, and dark patterns. Among the confirmed speakers, Sara Denby, Head of the Unstereotype Alliance Secretariat of UN Women, and Nicholas McSpedden Brown, Policy Analyst at OECD.

08.30 – 14.00 – WFA Policy Forum – Swisshotel the Bosphorus

During this session, we will take a closer look at the fast-changing pressures from environmental, social and governance (ESG) perspectives and how these translates into company frameworks or policies for responsible marketing. For more information, please refer to WFA website.


09.00 – 13.00 Social Activity

The social activity consists of a tour of Old City, discovering the history of Istanbul.


15.00 – 18.00 WFA Better Marketing session – Jolly Joker

With environmental sustainability high on the consumer agenda, brands have been increasingly accused of greenwashing. This interactive session will explore the fine line between getting it right or wrong and try to offer some serious perspectives for how brand marketers can get it right.


19.00 – Late Informal Dinner – Location TBD
