The recently published a Green Paper on retail financial services. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) respond European Commission and welcome the opportunity to put forward their views.

The Green Paper’s stated aim of working towards improved choice, transparency and competition in retail financial services to the benefit of European consumers is one the regulator recognise as valuable. The focus on the opportunities that the digitalisation of services may bring is also timely.

What’s the FCA’s response to this?

The response is intended to support the Commission in taking proportionate, well-advised and effective next steps which will genuinely benefit consumers.
